We’d Rather Spot You Doing This Spot Treatment!

 There is a lot you CAN do, and it takes just a couple of minutes. Start by massaging some of our Just Add Sugar soap on the breakout to get a good cleanse. You might feel a tingle, but this is perfectly normal. Just Add Sugar does magic to kill all the bacteria and balance your skin. Rinse off. Next, spray 3-4 mists of our Be Clean – Detoxifying Toner onto a clean and soft pad (like Marley’s Monsters) to further exterminate the breakout and prevent germs from spreading. This toner will also give you a delicious immune boost! 

Our Be Clean – Detoxifying Elixir is also a potent spot treatment. This herbal medicated oil will kill bacteria on the spot, heal, and prevent more acne from developing. Use 1 to 3 drops and gently press it onto your blemish with clean hands or a Marley’s Monsters pad. This gem even works for people with eczema and rosacea and can be used on kids as young as two-years-old.

Cover It Up! Yes, You May!

Now that your breakout is squeaky clean, you may conceal it! Amazing, right? We just don’t want you to put anything on that irritated spot that could exacerbate the situation. Jane Iredale Sunscreen Powder is perfect for covering up a blemish, hiding it nicely and helping the break out or extracted area to heal quickly. It offers physical and mineral protection, boasting a high dose of zinc and green tea extract. It’s one of our skincare must-haves, containing only 4-5 skin-saving, healing ingredients! Be Careful with These Chemicals & Acids!

Many anti-acne products on the market have alpha and beta hydroxy actives that may be harmful if not used correctly (think Clearasil or Mario Badescu). Acids like AHAs and BHAs strip and rob your skin's microbiome to the point that it can no longer fight things off on its own! Your skin may become dry, scabby, and prone to even worse acne attacks. More adverse effects can include burning and swelling. 

If you are not yet willing to part with your acne-busters that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or glycolic acid, please only use them for 2-3 days, then wait for 2-3 weeks until you apply them again! Also, be aware that these acids make you sun- and light-sensitive. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent burning, hyperpigmentation, premature aging, and white spots.
