HOW DOES LED LIGHT THERAPY WORK?

Let’s shed some light on how the Envy Light Capsule 2.0, as it’s officially called, works. The capsule/light bed utilizes Photobiolumination (PBM) for complete rejuvenation that is light years above other modalities. How does the light therapy bed manage this, you wonder? Through red light and near-infrared-light therapy! The energy found in this type of light interacts with photoreceptors in our cells called cytochrome c oxidase. 

Their interaction stimulates mitochondria activity, a release of nitric oxide, more efficient oxygenation, improved circulation, and a multitude of beneficial reactions in the entire body that include relieving pain, speeding up healing, faster recovery, building collagen, and boosting immunity. Nitric oxide is often referred to as the "miracle molecule” (CoQ10;). After just 20 minutes of light therapy, nitric oxide is released, triggering this remarkable cascade of therapeutic benefits.

NASA originally began experimenting with red light therapy on plant growth in space and then to help heal wounds in astronauts, according to the Cleveland Clinic. In 1993, Quantum Devices developed a light-emitting diode for NASA’s plant growth experiments.
